Photo and Face Data Handling (Sanary Beauty)
Last updated: September 26, 2026
This app-specific policy supplements the Sanary Privacy Policy and describes photo and face data handling in Sanary Beauty.
Face Data and Photos
Data Used
Sanary Beauty allows users to voluntarily capture or select photos for beauty and appearance analysis. These photos may contain the user's face.
The app may analyze visual characteristics contained in a submitted photo solely to provide the beauty and appearance analysis requested by the user.
Sanary Beauty does not collect or create biometric face data for identity verification, authentication, facial recognition, or user identification.
Purpose of Use
Photos and information about faces contained in those photos are used only to provide beauty and appearance analysis explicitly requested by the user.
Sanary Beauty does not use face data for identity verification, authentication, facial recognition, user identification, tracking, advertising, marketing, profiling, or data mining. Photos are also not used for these purposes.
Face data is used only for the specific user-requested functionality described above and is not reused for unrelated purposes.
AI Processing
For features that use Apple's Private Cloud Compute, the photo or information necessary to perform the requested analysis may be processed using Apple's Private Cloud Compute infrastructure. Sanary does not transmit face photos or face data to Sanary-operated servers or AWS services.
This non-transmission policy applies to all photos handled by Sanary Beauty. Sanary does not maintain a server-side copy of photos or face data.
Third-Party Sharing
Sanary does not sell face data and does not share face data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties for advertising, marketing, profiling, or data-mining purposes.
This policy also applies to photos. Processing through Apple's Private Cloud Compute is performed to provide the functionality requested by the user.
Storage
Photos retained by the app and the resulting analysis records are stored locally on the user's device. Sanary does not maintain a server-side copy of these photos or face data.
Photos and associated analysis records are not stored on Sanary servers.
Retention and Deletion
Locally stored photos and associated records are retained until the user deletes them from the app or removes the app and its local data from the device.
Users can use the app's deletion feature to delete the relevant data stored in the app. Removing the app and its local data from the device also deletes the local data retained by the app.
Sanary does not maintain a server-side copy of these photos or face data, so there is no face data separately retained by Sanary.
